Do you feel like having a party?
All kinds of things are celebrated worldwide, such as the harvest (Samhain), love (Valentine's Day) and welcoming the good (Holi, India). For the Draadzaak Yarnclub I think it would be awesome to translate those colorful celebrations into hand-dyed yarn and so "Celebrations all over the world" is the theme of the Draadzaak Yarnclub 2024. This fourth edition of 2024 is inspired by the "Dia de los Muertos" the celebration of the bond between the living and the deceased, in Mexico. Celebrating life and showing respect to deceased family members and friends is accompanied by an explosion of color.

What to expect from the Draadzaak Yarn Club 'Dia de los Muertos'? 

Last year I dyed the Yarn Clubs on different kinds of plant-based yarn. Because I now also dye woolen yarns, there will be more to choose from! There's a merino socket fingering weight (100 gram skein + 2 minis of 20 grams), a merino socket DK (100 grams skein + 2 minis of 20 grams) or a large club (3x100 grams) dyed on cotton or merino yarn. The 100 gram skeins will be the same, making the yarn ideal for a larger project. If you want to order extra skeins in addition to a sock set or a large club, you can! 

The dyeing process of wool and plant-based yarns is very different and each type of yarn has its own character, so the clubs on the different bases will differ from each other. The inspiration photo at the top of this page gives you an impression of the colors you can expect for this edition. I don't copy the colors one on one, but I will use them as an inspiration.

The Yarn Club explained: 

• Every 8 weeks a different global celebration takes center stage: I translate the colors typical of that celebration into a set of yarns. This is the last yarn club of 2024.
• Each Yarn Club holds multiple skeins of yarn: A sock set dyed on merino wool: 100 grams (425 meters) with two minis of 20 grams (80 meters), on DK (a skein of 100g / 225m and two minis of 20g/ 45m ) or a large club of 3x 100 grams yarn, dyed on merino, bamboo or cotton. You have the opportunity to order extra skeins if you like. 
• This is not a subscription: you can decide every 8 weeks - based on the inspiration photo - if you'd like to order the club.
• The colors of the Yarn Club are exclusive to the club and will not be repeated for the webshop. However, I may offer additional dyed skeins after the club has been revealed.
